Optical Illusions

Optical Illusions

I dreamed that we made love like the old days,
you thought that it would never end but somehow it did,
imperceptibly, like a tap suddenly stopped running,
then you moved to a spiritual level all by yourself.

We were young again, everything in the right place,
there was no indication what the future had in store,
if we knew then what we know now, what would we do?
Nothing, it was held for all to see, just in eternity.

As though there were changes, opportunities and more,
you didn't take them, just looked, ready to pass them by,
maybe that was it - you deliberately engineered destiny,
rather like a child, yet to discover your favourite sweet.

You could not change the scene, only shuffle players,
and then discover where your ideals were after all.
