Oranges and Lemons

Oranges and Lemons

Tasting likeĀ  acrid wine
Loves sweet yet bitter kiss
Stings within my memory

Curdling now like sour cream
Lost forever that special dream
Dishonesty betrayal lust
Broken now in a veil of dust

Oranges and lemons ~ the bells of St Clements
Their bells ring loud and clear
But ring all you like ~ this brides taking flight
The grooms run away with Pierre
