Orlando

Orlando

Today I am in mourning

For my brothers and sisters killed

In the blink of an eye

These are my brothers and sisters;

Let me make this distinction

It makes no bloody difference

What your background

If society ignores

Does not deplore,

Does not take action

Against the cause

Don't blame the gun son

I won't go there

Don't blame depression

I won't go there

Don't blame religion

I won't go there

When 50 people die

In the blink of an eye

I will go there

I will preach

I will pray

I will have a lot to say

And then I will be silent

I shall lie down in

Silence

In tears

In despair

In disgust

For the human race

May their lives not be in vain

For 50 people killed

Senselessly

In Orlando

God help us

To help ourselves

Before it's too late
