OSIRIS

I was sent home from work
Just another Industrial Technical Service Jerk
Still taking company service calls
Waiting for the virus to fall
My boss said I will be
Furloughed or Laid Off
5000 Global Jobs Tossed
Will I die a slow forced retirement death
Or get called back to work to take my last breadth
If I can't pay my rent
Will my landlady throw me out on the street
To Hell I will be sent
Please God protect us all from the
Spring Gloom
Let us all sing and play
Alone in our room
Let me survive this fatal virus
And If not
Let my poems be judged by
Osiris

It's good that there is a place to go online to share poetry. Without Cosmofunnel, we'd all be lost! I'm sorry to hear about your job, that is happening around the globe.
I don't think the world can be without its workers for a long stretch -- we are what makes the world evolve into a technical society that is continuously evolving with new ideas, new products, new ways of combating serious issues like a pandemic. I'm proud of my government for stepping up, but feel it may not be quite enough.
Time will tell us all how much we have all experienced and how lucky we all are to be alive. The work will return. For those who lose their jobs permanently.
I think they should spend time penning their books and publishing them. Earn a living by writing, it's never going to go out of style. When the world stops, we keep writing.
If our internet fails and our power goes out, we can use our pens, pencils and chalk to share our knowledge and our journey to living a more productive life, after a Pandemic.
I predict, this event will help our youth focus more on education to become the doctors and nurses of the future, or to keep things running in the world like our technology.Â
