Our funny world

When you're young, you're so naive to the world in which we reside
It goes from swings and slides and sweets, to rule after rule we abide 
They say that free will is an illusion, and I believe this sane 
When really all we do is work for the five percent to gain 

Politicians writing stories daily, in the form of a manifesto 
And on the world, their opinions are what they choose to bestow 
You choose the opinion you like best, and then you vote to find 
That our best interests really aren't what's taking up their mind 

You tell me, in what sort of world, obesity is an issue 
But the most they do, to help these souls, is hand them over a tissue 
"I apologise sir, but to lose weight I think that you should know, 
The gym is £40 a month, take a pen and sign below" 

And if you smoke a cigarette, it's done on your own back 
But either way we're going to charge you £20 per pack
Alcohol, also awful, stay away from that 
But we're gonna tax it anyway, charging 20% VAT

I could go on and on, and bore you half to death 
But I just ask why to these things, they should give themselves a rest 
The world is more than bills and anger, if you look outside 
The beautiful, is what keeps us sane, in this world that we reside
