Poem -

our mother

save earth

our mother

it is too late to feel guilty
when earth takes her last breath so will we
barely surviving
she is already dying
so many warning signs of what will be predicted
by the damage of our actions we committed
is it too late to start changing?
can we fix the last parts of this world remaining?
maybe not
the destruction is irreversible
her illness is terminal
we held earth hostage in her own body
she begged for help
how did we not hear her scream?
we were too focused on pursuing our own dreams
making life easier by inventing unnecessary machines
our huge population
killed her grounds creation

Hello Kiesha,
this is a great poem of awareness towards our most treasured possession. Earth. I just loved this particular line

“we held earth hostage in her own body”

Such stella wording here, that packs a punch, reminding us we have all contributed to the suffering. Even if it has been to allow it to continue

Great piece, thanks for sharing
Gwen :)
