Our old piano

Nostalgically looking
At our old piano in the hall
Reminiscing at the melodies
My girls learned to play when small
Looking at this dated relic
Wishing if only I could turn back time
How my daughters felt so clever
When they composed lyrics with a rhyme
Nowadays this piece of furniture
Only gathers daily dust
Just as well it isn’t metal
I fear it may well have turned to rust
Mahogony brown not many Scratches considering its age
It is locked in that hall forever
Like a pretty parrot in a cage
You see It was placed in its Position
My girls used it every day
But unfortunately they grew older
Bought a house not far away
Well I decided to have a door
Removed from the hall
But I forgot about my piano
So where the door was, theres a wall
We have tried to no avail
In endeavor to take it out
It simply is impossible
I’ve locked it there forever without a doubt
So the only things my piano
Has to amuse everyday
Is an abundance of teddy bears
My childrens toys I never gave Away
They sit ontop of the lid
All looking at me
Different shapes and sizes
Cuddly toys as cute as can be

Oh Jill...what a bloody brilliant and poignant write....I love it...pinned. I love how it is stuck there ...a solid memory. I get it because when my daughter left for the army years ago I used to stare at her piano and cry. I learned to play it then and let a little better. Oh, a beautiful write, brought a tear to my eyes ❤️
Well then I deffo have achieved my goal coz brought tear to your peeper ❤️🥰❤️
