Our Willow Tree

Here is where we're
meant to be
underneath
our willow tree.
The swaying branches
brush my face
but they still aren't enough
to take your place.
You're in the clouds,
over the sea
miles away
from being with me.
An owl soars down
and lands at my feet
I ask him,
"Can you take me where we're supposed to meet?"
He gives a hoot
and my face lights with a smile,
he tells me
"It surely has been awhile."
Carry me,
he says he'll do
to soar across the sea and clouds
to bring me to you.

This was inspired my the song "Carry Me" that DBlankportrait introduced me too and a tiny convo we had in the comments of one of my other works :))

Enchanting charming piece. A committed dedicated approach reaps rewards.
Lovely expressive poetry, to touch a heart, with heightened appeal.
Great.
Best wishes ! :)
Thank you! The song, as soon as I heard it I knew i wanted to do something with it and then I drew the inspiration from a small exchange we had on one of my other works and all the sudden this happened. I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was definitely meant to touch hearts. And it's a happy write for once as well :))

Hi Lilly A beautifully written
enchanting piece, I love the imagery of the
weeping willow and the owl
A pleasure to read!
Best wishes Debs
Thank you Deb! I'm enchanted by willow trees. I used to sit and just watch one years ago as the branches danced in the wind. So peaceful it was. Even though they are said to weeping...could they be weeping tears of joy? Nobody knows :)) So glad you enjoyed :))
