Out digging

Out digging

The sun beats down piercing like a bite
Using all its might ,
To light the dayΒ
Need for a hat and sunscreen too,
To keep this mighty force at bay

With a beat and a humΒ
The workers get it doneΒ
Knowing there’s work to be done if I may,
The crunch of the spade like apple eaten. Gobble!

No time is wastedΒ
Soil dug ,soil moved, as busy as a dog heading sheep.Β
Hand are sour and sweaty ,that’sΒ  how you earn your keepΒ
Pounding the dirt till it crumbles

No break for the weakΒ
this jobs got to be done by tomorrow !
Just me for a while till the whole gang arrives .
eak!
Mums on the job!

Got something in my eyeΒ
Found a coin why
And that’s what happened when
Β  I was out Digging .
