OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE

OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE

Since I came down from Oxford, it was literature
and architecture which provided the adventure;
although I did bump into Gaugin's ghost in Tahiti,
what magic did you manage in your life's mystery?

Since I read Dostoyevsky and Brothers Karamazov,
I realised he had solutions which no one had heard of;
no matter how much you read, you may never understand,
that you could be trapped in boundaries which have no land.

Since I heard 'Prince' say that if he wanted some music,
then he would just write it, a new dimension would stick;
we all pretend, don't you, that you can do anything but
that guy may have more knowledge, living in the mud hut.

That guy threw some bones, looking with incredulity,
just remember you're never going to be better than me.
