Outer shell

I talk to dull my embarrassment
I laugh to hide my tears
I shout to cover my faults
I smile to fight off my fears
Finding it hard to do what i want
I shut myself away behind a door and padlock
Now im not me
Im just my name
My face
My lies
Still my heart will race
Going through all the whys
With anxiety and haste
I cant break the loop
Its on a roll
Going around in circles
Slowly taking its toll
Problem after problem chipping away
My outer shell of betrayal
Putting my true feelings on display
