Over Farm Fields .....

A cantankerous
5 billion years old sun
Comme un homme,
Ou une femme,
D’un certain âge
Is poking fun at me today.
Playing games with me.
Hide and seek
Popping out from,
Flashing paparazzi-like,
Then
Back in behind
Over and over
Again and again
Baleful over-bearing blackish-grey clouds
Drip-dropping rain
Scattering showers
On soggy damp muddy sludge
Fudge-brown coloured terrain
As I drudge-trudge along the footpath
From Whitley Bay
Over farm fields,
Frightened for their futures,
To a not too far away
Shiremoor.
WinterÂ
At once warm and then cold
Cannot conceal nor contain
A sun
From time to time
Pleasantly
Surprisingly
Innocently
Wide-eyedly
Sometimes coyly
Happy and content
With its existence
A fireball flaming flaring
Firing its heat and warmth
93 million miles
Across the cold dark matter-less vacuum of space
That lies between it and me.
