Over The Edge

Over The Edge

She often sees herself standing on a roof,
her feet on the edge and far above the truth.
High above the world and away from the crowds,
her hands stretched above her head to the clouds.
She balances herself on the roof's ledge,
she wants so bad to go over the edge.
She wants to end the pain and stop the tears,
but should she do what she dares?
She's tried everything else she can think of!
She's running out of options and out of excuses,
why stay when the pain never stops or reduces?
She is doing the therapy and is on the medication,
but still she struggles with feelings of desperation.
She's desperate to make the pain stop,
just one step and she'll go flop.
One step is all it will take to make it all go away,
Nobody cares about her anyway so why should she stay?
