Hi Greg,

Listening to Caruso singing this song 100 years ago, has confirmed my suspicions.  I think his father was Italian, but his mother was French, for I hear more of that accent than I do of Italian.  Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.  We will discuss this at length the next time we meet.
