P-leisure

P-leisure

what is this life if full of shit
we have no time to stand or sit
no time to stand in clubs and bars
and stare as long as licensing hours
no time to look when shops we pass
and see how others spend their brass
no time to ponder in broadest day
where coal and steel once did pay
no time to turn at beauties prance
because her giro's  in the bank,
no time to wait until her gob
will smile too late under the sod
a poor life this  24/7/365
my 0 hr contract barely keeps me alive

You paint a grim (up North) picture...but with such joy and humour.
It's the joy and sense of humour that keeps you alive...nothing to do with that damned contract!!

Keep laughing...and keep writing.
