Pain

Pain

          Lord, take this pain away,
I can't take it any longer,
I thought You said,
All this would make me stronger.
          You forgot to mention,
How much it would hurt,
It makes me want to scream,
Into my shirt.
          Why do I have to
Go through this again?
It seems to me that
Pain always wins.
          Is this a punishment,
If it is, what did I do?
When will the pain,
Ever be through?
Will You ever see a smile,
Appear on my face,
When will I leave,
This painful place?

Hi Stephanie, this is so so touching, sad and wonderful. Wonderful because we can all have empathy with the pain. I saw in the comments that you felt pain when you lost your pet. WOW i can SO have empathy with you on that one. I wrote a poem for my dog Katie who died 3 weeks ago. I still feel so so much sadness from losing her and will miss her forever. She was a very loving, gentle dog who gave me so much happiness. Losing a pet is very painful.

Thank you for sharing this great write. Well done and keep writing and sharing.

Thank-you so much. I will. And it was about my fish I'd had a little over a year.

Maybe this poem explains a bit of what people go through when a loved one dies. Even if it is a fish.
