Painful Burden

Shh!
I’ve got a secret that I can’t tell
It’s the burden I carry with me everyday

It weighs down my heart
Makes it difficult to breathe
When will this fire inside me ease?

It’s constantly nagging at me
Slowly eating me away
With heavy feet I carry it each and
Everyday

My heart yearns to tell someone
But my brain is telling me no
What should I do?
Who should I tell?

I’m afraid that people will shun me
Turn away in disgust
I’ve only asked the lord for guidance
For whom else could I trust?
