Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

This day is very different, from any other in seventeen years;
For it’s the first one I will be alone, without a loved one near!
This morning is day one, of your new accounting job;
I will give you a long kiss goodbye, then I’m sure that I will sob!

For “Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow”, your pay is very high;
But having to be without you, will make my heart so cry!
Since 2001, when we got Nico, I’ve not had to be alone;
Without a dear one’s company, so your work, I could condone!

But now, we will both be parted, for several hours a week;
You, at your new employer, me, on quests of art to seek!
It will probably be a year or two, before our coffers are amply built;
Till then, with every moment, I will miss you to the hilt!
