The Passerby Part 3

Why, you ask?
I don't know
I had a task?
I had to go?
I'm not sure why I ran
They made me uncomfortable
So, from them, I ran
Theirs was the worst kind of spell
So I walked back home
On the old worn road
I'm better of being alone
Their presence I loathe
And I jumped at the sound of Gwen's voice
"Hey, you left your purse by mistake
I turned around, I had little choice
Ronda stood in her sister's wake
"Thank you" I managed to say
"Gwen and I wondered--
"If you'd have supper with us, our house is that way"
She pointed to the house made of bronze lumber
"That's awfully kind
But I shouldn't trouble you
Ronda spoke "We don't mind
We welcome you"
Her words weren't hateful
But strangely kind
I walked, a bit bashful
Along their side
Gwen "So where are you from?"
"Chicago"
My heart know beat like a drum
"I've always wanted to go"
"So, how are you two step sisters?
Ronda looked at Gwenevier
"My mother divorced my father"
Gwen didn't speak, but cried a tear
"It was three years ago
On a day like today.
It happened so fast I didn't know"
She paused "What to do or say..."
Gwen spoke "And my mother died
In a car accident. I was only four"
Ronda wrapped her arm around Gwen as she cried
"I don't remember her anymore."
"Gwen, it's all right."
She wiped her sisters tears
"Everything will be alright.
I'm here."
I stared at the water, cool and transparent
Reflecting the sky
And remembered my parents
Who left me to die
To be continued

your story line and characters are developing like wildfire. your skill is a vibrant light. I look forward to reading the next segment.
Thanks Glen. I find it tricky making certain words rhyme and create a story at the same time but it is really fun to do.
