Passing like two ships in the night

Passing like two ships in the night

Two ships with bulged bows in the shadowy night both with anchors aweigh til’ the early mornlight
Passing each other on the arc of the horizon with cargos in their keels and white sails on their mizen

But are these voyager vessels a’ coming or going with the seafaring sailors a’ toing and froing ? Whilst one’s bound for the north east and the other the south west blowing steam from their funnels on the wave of a crest

So on the crack of dawn they both storm into their ports with tiny tug boats as their welcoming escorts.. One offloads ivory, silver and gold as the seafaring sailors empty the hold.. But the other sailing ship is full of the best.. it has delicate fineries hid in her chest

A couple of wooden warriors on a mission once again to weather the weather with waxing and wane.. “Ship Ahoy” shouts the Captains and it’s ‘Anchor’s Aweigh” off to pass in the night the next seafaring day..
Backwards and forwards on the mighty mean ocean twin masts on both boats with flags set in motion
