Passionessence: Your Touch

So tired,
All I can do,
Is lay here,
Beside you:

Long has the day been,
And tiring its many trials and adventures,
Yet upon this home comes sleep,
At last to retire to my slumber;
The moment I fall upon the bed,
The gentle scent of your fresh,
Glowing presence,
Fills my nostrils and tranquilizes me;
I see you turn to me,
Smiling at me the way you do,
And I melt away for you,
Touching your hand,
But I am so tired,
Pray thee, make me move not,
For I labor beyond my strength and need rest,
My love;
She snuggles beside me,
Breathing softly,
And I close my eyes,
Feeling her gentle hands stroke my cheeks,
And warm covers upon me,
As she has dimmed the lights to darkness,
I close her in my arms,
And listen to her heart beating,
Deeply, mellow,
My eyes haze, they close,
And right before I am gone,
I whisper,
"Goodnight, my love; I love you,"
And she whispers back,
"I love you, too;"
I am gone till morning,
With her in my arms tonight,
For it is but her gentle touch,
That tranquilizes me so;
e love:
