PAST LIFE

Can you remember when you were three?
Playing in the garden, playing free
Sitting on your backside
Designing the perfect mud pie
Can you remember watching the ants?
How they marched in formation
With military precision
Carrying food twice their weight
Some struggled to get under the gate
Can you remember making daisy chains?
Sitting on the grass as it started to rain
You’d look up and open your lips
Catching rain drops
on your tongue
They would sit
Can you remember watching fireflies?
You would sit totally mesmerised
Watching them fluttering around
Like little light bulbs
they made no sound
Can you remember
counting the stars?
Looking at the planets
laid on your back
Thinking this could be a scene
from star trek
You would look up
at the glorious moon
Thinking how could a cow
jump over the moon
Can you remember
your first day at school?
How they teased and were so cruel
But you stood your ground and acted cool
Can you remember you first seaside visit?
Pressing your feet in the sand
Feeling the grains surround your feet
Slipping into the crevices between your toes
Were it came from nobody knows
Can you remember your first day at the fair?
You’d ride the rides without a care
Candy floss to follow
Sticky and sweet
Merry go rounds
You’d ride to compete
I would always choose a horse
Pretend to race my brother of course
Can you remember
your very first kiss?
The passion that flowed
As your lips locked
for the first time
Saliva flowed like a fine wine
Eyes closed tight
because you was shy
These are the days i long to relive
But sadly it cannot be as time machines don’t exist
Well not yet that’s for sure
But who knows there might be an invisible door
And maybe then I’ll go back in time
Relive the days of my past life
This is a polite ask, if you have took the time to read this poem please be kind and leave a review. thanks jeff
