Poem -

Past no longer the past

Past no longer the past

I know that the past

is in the past

Yet, my past follows me to the present.

Like an old friend

Swirling around me like a fog,

That broken trust

Tapping against the fresh wounds

You are the world to me,

Sweet lover,

Yet my trust refuses you

Screaming against like a storm

My fear

Makes your old truth

New lies,

Ripping open the wounds like a knife,

Sharp and unforgiving,

How long,

Broken trust,

Will you linger with me?

How long will my past,

Be my present.

What is my true future?
