Patience

A Virtue

Patience

Clock ticking, seconds pass,
Concentration, sharp as glass,
Upon each moment, life stands still,
Expectations, provoke at will,

Restless patience, relentless wait,
Luck resigned, to trust in fate,
Roll of dice, spin of wheel,
The outcome waits, to reveal,

Prediction forecast's, a shot in the dark,
Assumption suspect's, a miss of the mark,
A solitary fate, stands silent, impartial,
For witness ignored, all written in scripture,

Faith be laid, in the stranger's hands,
A suspicion of hope, lacking demand,
Patience a virtue, in a future of worth,
For he who cries silent, inherits the earth,
