Peace

Peace

Peace crawls slowly

At a snail’s pace it comes to me.

I hear the laughter we had.

Passionate lustful noises

all the echoes of what we were.

I can hear its faint footsteps

In the darkness as I await sleep

It is very far away.

Peace crawls slowly

Will it ever reach me?

My hidden tears cry for morning

Bring me light bring me peace.

Stop the need to be in your arms

Pulled to your breast

And .drown in your morning kisses.

Peace crawls slowly

Perhaps each day will take

Your voice from my head

Little by little fading

Into the mist of time

Until silence

But peace crawls slowly
