Peace Within

Deep down inside I feel the heat of a raging fire

Out of control unable to quench its desire

The flames fueled by the fears burning in my mind

Searching for the truth afraid of what I might find

Sacrificing my soul strength self heart and spirit

Even with the scars of life still willing to share it

I often wonder how I got here and didn’t end up dead

The hope in my soul silently pulls my life ahead

Wisdom finally comes and pushes from behind

If wisdom came first inner peace would not be so hard to find
