PENNY FARTHING

Considered by the city as a local bike 
This poor girl had a name she didn't like 
Having a surname of Farthing was bad enough 
A first name of Penny made it twice as tough 

The jokes first started when Penny started school 
All the kids with their bike jokes thought they were cool 
When she started work Penny's colleagues thought it funny 
One of her colleagues though said don't worry honey 

Penny was grateful to her colleague and offered her thanks 
The colleague's name was Robin Banks 
Let's hope that this couple do not settle and wed 
Penny Farthing would then be Penny Banks instead
