People Coming Round

People Coming Round

Adele's strange voice greeted, 'Hello, it's me,'
when they become rich, they disappear to Surrey;
Forsythe's wife gazed forlornly over the golf course,
plenty left, even though the money's taxed at source.

A friend of mine said that he hated Surrey -
because it was too flat, let's build a mountain range,
then they might all flock in a flurry, not sorry
to leave the East End which was a constant worry.

She became rich because she wrote so much 'sad,'
now she's happy, formula's gone, can't write 'glad;'
the irony hangs in Jagger's song: 'You can't always
git what you want,' we'll make do with Surrey.

We'll make 'do' when they come to see me, Adele
and Wilnelia, now she's got five million, deciding to sell.Β Β Β
