PEOPLE WE KNEW

I could smell almond soap, a finale,
mission accomplished, success rate a mystery,
being well endowed turned out to be a gem,
I said: 'Don't worry, I'll take care of them.

One day, we played golf before the main event,
a handicap could be misconstrued as heaven-sent,
however, I made the cut, ready for the next round,
but unsettling when you didn't make a sound.

The mountain glistened across a silvery sea,
there was no hurry, the night would come eventually,
it did, nothing like patience - I waited and you came,
then I realized that I'd forgotten your name.

The lights flickered in a montage behind the bed,
there remains an incredible memory within my head.
