Poem -

Perched upon my soul.

Caged between my heart
perched upon
my soul,

I found you in the stillness, the silence
of it all,

with care I bent your feathers, you could not fly away,

The songs I had you
sing to me
Would echo night
and day,

In mind you were so beautiful, the wild - still in your way,

With boldness like an eagle, I could not
make you stay,

This empty space no singing now, since you went away

Just the sweetness of your memory, the feathers and the grey.
