Perfect Poetry 🙏

My Christmas shopping is almost complete
In and out of shopping stores on either side of a street
Shuffling through long snakey queues in the stifling heat
Standing hours on end with sore blisters on my feet
City life is not for me, with constant chaos and clatter
Where clusters of cluttered crowds act as mad as a hatter
And rhythmical rain pours down in a pelting pitter patter
Amongst the collaboration of confusing, chattering natter
And I seek out silence, some salvation to see
So I escape to the countryside, where my soul is free
And soon all of that hustle bustle, is but my distant memory
Soothing me to a stillness of perfect poetry

I don't like cities either, they are smelly, crowded, overbearing places. London, I find, does look very beautiful in the dark though. All the lights make it much better than in the daylight ... although it is just as busy . I had to go to St Thomas' in lock down and the London streets were almost empty... That was very surreal. It was much better like that x
Yes give me green fields anyday ❤️❤️❤️
