The Magician Disappears

The Magician Disappears

Always elsewhere in othernessĀ
Sheltered from the forfeiture of soulĀ
And only when an anchorite spurns the veneficeĀ
Will he manumit what he has knownĀ

Sombre is the walk to where no one awaits
As epektasis resumes in reflective soliloquiumĀ
And true intellection illumines the narrow gateĀ
Yet found is the flesh impoverished ad infinitumĀ

The thaumaturge has purged to obtain pleromaĀ
Unburdened from all but his purpose for love
Aware the price of perspicacity is the weight of kenoma
And forbearance inherent if he remains with noneĀ

Will I ever touch the effulgence of your faceĀ
My magnalia unmasked as the equinox shoneĀ
Amid vernal flowers unfurled an inviolable flame
Evincing my twin and sine qua nonĀ
Yet I am anywhere but there or back in AtlantisĀ
Inside two became one, still the mountain remainsĀ
As swans swim around through the fog and the rainĀ
How I have longed to live, I live to longĀ

And if the sea should call my nameĀ
Perhaps then I will have long let go
With wand in hand while I descendĀ
Knowing to you it Ain Soph AurĀ
But not if we should meet again
Now glimpsing Elysium I look backĀ
Before I walk on all aloneĀ
Execrating the earth that keeps us delayed
With ambivalent tears of tetelestaiĀ
But without dread of judgement nor regretĀ
Apotheosis beckons
And through the heavens I will soar

…and you’ll soar through the heavens with a divine
poem in your hands. Mix an intellectual curiosity with Latin, Hebrew,Greek
and stir with awareness and a gentle sensitivity and you have pure Magic!Ā
Ian, welcome back! And thank you for the magic portion.

Great image, Ian. It does justice to
such a magnificent piece.
I was wondering when you were going to write again. I am sure you always do, but not often on Cosmo site.Ā
Warm wishes my Poet friend,
BĀ
