Phantom Vessel

Phantom Vessel

A phantom stalks my house tonight
Painting pictures of maggots with a muddy brush
I can feel its hands around my neck
I see the glowing green nails hungry for my aura
A smoke engulfed the room
Red strands of hair began to float elegantly in the air
There’s a knock at my window.

Like a child running through time I sat and watched as the window shattered
A smell of rotting wood mixed with an old man’s sweat came through
The sound of teeth chattering in the distance was closing in
Shutting my eyes for meditation
Praying to aliens for my salvation.

Can you feel it?
The floor shaking as it opens into a dark void
Swallowing the house and me with demons whole
Transported to a land of sweet fear and holy air I am the vessel that screams for you
Watch as you sit alone
A ghost may come.
