Pilgrim

I heard the voice
Of another age
A cry so strong, so bold and brave
Dust to their footprints all around me
The light in the darkness is growing dim
I've been through Hell
To battle evil to cleanse the sin
But now I lost myself
Trying to find Heaven
I've seen it all in times before
Our fathers time
That is no more
A constant cry
"Muster your courage men
We found our Salvation"
I journeyed to a land so fair
The Angels there with golden hair
And every step we took
On this road
Was divine admiration
I've seen this place in another age
My fists were clenched
In fits of rage
The time we had was not our own
They bid us well and sent us home
Pilgrims of our own imagination
You've heard my cries
My times of woe
I wish to stay
But you bid me go
Depart from me
Your work is still in creation
Maybe I had been dreaming still
In dire straits by own free will
How may I journey without you
I've seen your kingdom fair and bright
A stranger turns off the lights
Now there's darkness
all across the nationΒ
