Poem -

Skyline

Release your hold from me
Turn me loose and let me fly
I'll learn to spread my wings
And soar on a mountain high

Into that great wide yonder
I'll leave this world behind
No longer will I wait or wonder
Today I opened my eyes

I have a home
Just on the other side
Of the skyline
Saying Goodbye to the life
I never knew
Where birds like me
Are meant to fly
So far away into the blue

Just on the other side
Of the skyline
There's a world
I've never seen
With smiling faces
The grass is always green
On the other side

The world below me
Is a picture frame
To paint the stars
And guide your way

My eyes that look like yours
Are two great mirrors
To turn the pages
And open doors

I can't tell you anything
That you don't already know
My home is in the sky
And the bible tells you so

I have a home
Just on the other side
Of the skyline
Saying goodbye to a life
I never knew
Where birds like me
Are meant to fly
So far away into the blue

Just on the other side
Of the skyline
There's a world
I've never seen
With smiling faces
The grass is always green
On the other side
