On The Planet Krypton

Telling myself a story, I'm exposed
To the cold rain and the great disdain
Of the people I opposed
The plight of undeniable recourse
Sends me to a silent sorrow
A cleansing tear and a clear remorse
Creates a hope for tomorrow

The story that I recount, it leaps
From the pages, throughout the ages
The book that my memory keeps
Above the earth, through the Milky Way
My eyes scanned unbroken stars
Through the cosmos' swirling disarray

Dreams graze by planet Mars

I go on and on and on I go
With closed eyes I surpass the skies
Past a supernova's afterglow
I feel the cosmic speed of light
And my imagination accelerates
Like the Man of Steel in flight
Through all barriers and through the floodgates

Soon the past is out of sight

I tell myself a story, I reveal
To this wild world, with thoughts unfurled
And a dream intangibly real
Going where I can be much more
On the planet Krypton I would live

But, I must awaken and explore
All that this world has to give
