Planting Roots

Unfamaliar faces

Trying to keep up with the paces

Strange things my imagination tells me to do

Planting our roots in a place entirely new

Days go by and still no warm welcoming feeling

Will this go away? I ask a million questions as a stare at the ceiling 

As long as I have my family it will all be ok

Why is today such a dark day

"You will adjust" I hear on repeat

Long days, nights with little to no sleep

Be strong, as long as you have a breath in you, you fight

Through all the darkness I desperatly seek the light

One day I will awake, and it will just be a vague memory

Until then, music will help me find that soothing melody

I am a soldier, a life fighter, someone who won't resign

Things will fall together in their due time
