PLEADING SAD EYES

She looked up at me with pleading sad eyes
I looked down at her with so much surprise
For she was on a street in Leicester Square
Shoes were worn and her clothes threadbare

By the lady's side was a message for all to read
Basically it said she's homeless and in need
What is her story and how did she end up here
Tourists stare at her quickly and then disappear

The pleading eyes still with me as I hurry on by
Should I have stopped and why didn't I cry
I'm just so thankful for all that I own and possess
Take it all for granted is something to confess
