"Please Don't Leave Me Again"

"Please Don't Leave Me Again"

Mom, I miss you, more than you could ever know.

Ten years and still fighting  cancer, but I wish the dementia would go.

I remember walking in the house and call you about my day.

Now when I see you, you speak little words, I miss you in such a big way.

I would never imagine a woman who has been so strong and caring and loving to.

Would end up with fighting two illnesses, for your my greatest hero mom, that will always be true.

Now everyday "the love of your life" dad is there to care for you.

The two of you have shown that real love exists, from the moment you both said I do.

I am not ready to grieve a second time, just seeing your face, your smile, everyday.

Makes my life complete in a very special way.

I love you Mom xo

What a beautiful heartfelt tribute to your mom! I enjoyed reading this very much. I am sorry for all you and your family are going through. Dementia is so hard on the person bearing it .....and their loved ones. Your mother is fortunate to have you and your Dad in her life. Take care.                With Prayers, Paula

Hi  Cathy I  had tears reading your poem
So heartfelt, I lost my mam December 2015 through cancer
I miss her so much, I have seen  too how Dementia
affects a person and the family, it is so hard to see
and how to cope with this heartbreaking disease
Thank you for sharing you poignant story
Best wishes Debs
