Pleasures of mine

Pleasure is sunny morning followed by galavanting in town!
Or in the country, though I don’t see much country living as I do in a city.
Winter is coming to an end, Spring is bringing back fresh blooms,
Gardens bursting forth with herbs, vegetables, other various plants
For healing, health, clarity, protection, transition, dream feeding.
Strong coffee, sunrise, sunset, moon views, planetary activities!
After the long winter, it is exquisite to have light again!
Thunderstorms that can shake a building,
Cleansing rain washing away winter’s greys, browns, and dirty snow.
Being outside is splendid after winter,
Hibernation is over, activity increasing!
Important to rest, even in nature,
Gathering energy to grow again.
A home brings pleasure to it’s inhabitants,
especially if it is safe and filled with love, curiousness, acceptance, encouragement.
A place to let down your defenses, your roles,
And live in freedom!
Music can bring pleasure to listeners or performers.
Universal language like mathematics, which is part of music.
Music can change or heighten moods, it is powerful!
Birdsong on an otherwise quiet morning brings me joy!
I am grateful that my natural senses are still relatively intact!
A little hard of hearing, need glasses to see distances, useÂ
magnifying glass for very small print.
It is good to be older, grateful for all my experiences!
Bring on the magic of Spring once more!

Hello, Susan, beautifully written essay-poem....pull quoted this line at the end; 'Bring on the magic of Spring once more!'... thanks for writing a great profile about yourself as well; enjoyed that....I found this write to be  excellent reading for one who enjoys reading as I do....cheersÂ
Thank you, Christopher! It is rather an essay-poem isn't it? I appreciate that you pulled a quote out of the poem, I must read more of your work!
