a poem to me comes as a small bird flying through my window of consciousness

a broken wing on landing still wild an untamed I nurse it back to health

I caress its tiny frame an think of a name I watch an wait for signs of health

I move it toward light an warmth I help it walk an flap it's wings an ready it for goodbye

it flys away with a story to tell only birds will hear
