Poetry...
Inspired by Andrei Rublev (Director: Andrei Tarkovsky, 1966)

Poetry should be
pure and clear like the ringing
of fine, bronzen bells
in ancient, and in some ways,
more civilised times.
The Russian icon painters
firmly believed that
the creative process should
not be forced, rather
it should flow organically.
Teeming green textures
lie behind many grey worlds.
A vow of silence,
with regard to one's Art, is
much better than a
meaningless cacophony
of words. So many
books born from fevered egos,
yet not much wisdom,
honour or humility;
so many futile
distractions from life's essence.
Redemption is slow.
The dark ways of existence
Must be faced. Yet like
horses, refreshed by the
rain in summertime,
we can be at one with worlds
of perfect freedom,
in our poetry, at least.
