Poetry is like a marriage

Poetry is like a marriage,
both with its ups n' downs.
Secrets hidden beneath the words,
ones you would never share.
Those who read between the lines
perhaps the truth is there.
I'd never admit it though,
Although the esoteric could see.
Maybe just maybe, it's how it's suppose to be.
Happiness and laughter, smiles.
Sadness, anger, anxiety
Tell-tale woes.
Poetry like a marriage
Sprout ideas like children.
Parenting is an artform.
Poetry its own kind.
Rhyme, rhythm, tempo.
Peace, shouting, time out!
See, very similar.
Poetry like a marriage
Diverse.
Divorcing your poetry,
What? Yes! It's called a block!
Divorce between people,
What? Yes! Falls apart. You pour your heart and soul in to both, In hopes love will take hold. Poetry is exactly like a marriage. In my eyes anyway. I love my words as I love my husband. My ideas and my kids.
So do you see the similarity?
I hope you really do cause I can't think of anymore metaphors to give to you!

I am not sure what possessed me to compare the two. Poetry and marriage.
Inside I feel like they both go hand in hand with each other.
