Poor Paddington Bear 🧸

Poor Paddington Bear 🧸

Little tatty teddy bear is left all alone on the toy shop floor

He has sat slouched on that dusty shelf for forty two years or maybes more

And he sits like a still statue in that children’s store

As tiny tots touch and prod him but he never feels sore

Coz he is just an old stuffed Paddington bear

Slightly worn at the seams and a little worse for wear

With his faded facial expression and missing tufts of hair

But he can still captivate little girls and boys as they come across him and stare

Poor old Paddington is feeling his age, he is getting on a bit

The shop owners Grandmama made him many moons ago from a felt stuffed toy kit

And she plopped him down on that lonely shelf, where all he can do is silently sit

Wearing his royal blue duffle-coat and black felt floppy hat  for his familiar, famous outfit…
