Poor Prognosis....

Poor Prognosis....

My Doctor stared with ashen face,

A miserable handshake too,

Before his mouth could spew the words,

"Results not good"....I knew.

Prognosis on a mere sheet of paper,

My body returning to mud,

Written in red I'm reading in tears,

His handwriting...my warm blood.

In haste my fate did travel,

Fast on the wings of bad news,

Warped and distorted my story broke free,

As the truth landed battered and bruised.

One fatal mistake the gossipers made,

In predicting my impending doom,

THAT power belongs to God in his Heavens,

So I haven't yet ordered my tomb.

Much gratitude Lisa for your kindness and concern . ....

This is a few years old but it is about me......I'm presently in remission and don't worry I don't intend going anywhere soon.

Kind regards....Mick.

Thought as much. It has the true ring of lived experience rather than merely a flight of imaginative fancy. It's a powerful piece.

I hope, and presume, writing it helped at the time. Turning your experiences into art; particularly the horrible ones (experiences, not the arts...you know, like ballet!!): generally does. Making something beautiful from something ugly almost makes the experience worth it...ALMOST!

Again...powerful piece, Mick.

Hi Dear Mick,

How many people have been told they had "one year" to live, two decades ago. Β There is a force that guides our souls, that is a million times more powerful than any drug or procedure. Β Don't say your "amen's" yet people. Β With "Him" by my side, I'm not going anywhere soon! Β Powerful words, my friend!

Peace and Love,

Larry xxx
