Porcelain Angel

Take a look at her,

The face of an angel, complete beauty,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Behind those grey shimmering eyes, behind her porcelain flesh,

There is a monster who has made himself at home.

He torments her until she is broken and he is all that is left.

Yet she seems so ordinary, even blessed.

"Please go away!" she pleads under her breath,

He charmingly reminds her,

"Darling, you will be mine until death."

There is so much for him to teach her,

Human connection will lead to hurt, sorrow, even disaster.

Yes, those are his intentions.

And he always gets what he wants.

He sees that she is a fellow fallen angel,

So he craves her company, more than he did yesterday.

How did he find her?

God doesn't even know.

What does it matter? Tomorrow will be harder.
