Post (Iraq) Traumatic Stress Disorder

I sit on the edge of infinity
Looking down upon the treacherous waters
Out across the hot terrain
Deep into enemy territory
There I am, a soldier in trauma
Night after night mortar shells
Scuds and gas masks
I, the soldier diving
Seeking the safety of the bunker
Until death's sleep knocks
And I the combatant awake
In the post traumatic stress Nightmare
A zombie after Iraq

my friend jai
I appreciate your keen intellect, to bring such a topic into light, into focus! it leaves my heart aching, as my younger brother served in Iraq and Afghanistan! I am always concerned! so many young men and women left haunted, terrorized by the war on terror! sickly ironic, depressing to me!
much love to ya jai
thanks again my friend
No one escapes the ravage of war
your brother we can wish good for
But more than that give him a gift
a song is most healing or prayer book
A phone call
ptsd is hard to detect
most afflicted appear "normal"
Thank you for your good thoughts!
