My mind is like a cage
Filled with thoughts
Overthinking
Every thought
In my head
It’s too much

Trying to contain
All those feelings
These emotions
Building up
Being trapped
In a Cage

And my heart
Won’t stop beating
Let alone
Won’t stop feeling
Like a storm
In my chest

When it’s gone
All is left
Is myself
Catching breath
Calming down

I LOVE your sense of rhythm & timing in your delivery of poetic prose.....NOT an easy thing to.....Either you have IT or not......not many poets even attempt this type of poetic narrative to convey poetry with the music of prose.....It's what I do with great effort......so I was VERY happy to read this!!......a kindred spirit in poetic endeavor.......you've done a fine job of conveying the pain involved with human emotion and the feelings that occur when thoughts manifest!!.......ALL STARS!!......well done dear poet sister.....and.....in case no one has said so.......WELCOME to COSMO!!........LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo   : )
