Pray For Cody
Our precious Angel Cody, we fear it is the day;
When you will sail off to Heaven, and end your Earthly stay!
You refuse to eat your food now, and each morning you get sick;
You’ve lost so much of your body weight, your ribs so outward stick!
.
Our hearts and souls are broken, for your suffering we must end;
When we wish that you could stay here, more years with us to spend!
But to see you like this is agony, sleeping twenty two hours a day;
And your walk is so unsteady, you teeter and you sway!
.
My tears fall as I write this, in the wee hours of the night;
For like Nico, you’ve battled bravely, but are losing your final fight!
Maybe there is a miracle, but I fear your Vet will say;
It is time to end his suffering, and let him sail away!
.
Our Angel Cody
Your suffering will now end
So please forgive us
.
For we love you so
But can’t bear to watch your pain
Our hearts and souls sob

Dear LARRY & LINDA!!.....I haven't commented much on your Nico & Cody writes.....but I know how losing a member of the family feels having lost two sisters......and I remember my best friend losing his collie when I was young....He always said she was a family member and he didn't come to school for two weeks ~ I remember the pain in his eyes.....so my heart goes out to you both......as do my prayers for Cody and you......excellent poetry my brother!!.....Hugs-n-kisses to you all!!.......God bless......T xo ?☀✴✳♥♥♥
Larry, my dear dear friend...
I'm so sorry that your worst fears seem to be coming to pass. You and Linda must be devastated.
Having had to make this cruel and heartbreaking decision myself for my own Beta less than a year ago...I know how difficult it is; but it's nothing compared to the pain of watching your most devoted and beloved friend suffer uncomprehendingly.
I still remember the stoicism and bravery with which Beta faced his final days. Even though he was in horrific pain (from bowel cancer), he still put up a brave front...and though it may seem ridiculous, it did seem that he was doing it for my benefit.
I wish and hope that you get the miracle this sweet poem asks for...but if you don't, I know that you love Cody enough to embrace your own pain and release him from his.
Lorna & I send our love to you, Linda and Cody. If there's anything we can do for you...please let us know.
your friends & fans,
Lorna & Jason xx
