prayers of a broken family

dear lord, drown me in thanksgiving
carress me with feelings of joy
and hope that my family is with peace

wake me up in the morning with a smile on my face
and show me what it means to be thankful
because it seems that, no one knows what that means anymore

plates of food sit on the table
although not even cooked in the same home
i pray that unity is still present

family is a suppose to be a four letter word
and though we love each other
anger and frustration is still dominant

dear lord, give me the strength to keep going
drown me in the ocean of thanksgiving
and show me what it means to be thankful
